Cycling across southern France

After our bicycles were serviced in Avignon, we cycled ~750km across southern France to visit family in Saint-Jean-De-Luz. Soon we will cycle back east again, to Barcelona. It’s certainly a bimbling route to take. It was also lovely being back riding after our trip to see family in Munich. Here are a few photographs from the journey.

A green metal cable-stayed swing bridge structure sits on a grassy field beside a small waterway, surrounded by tall cypress trees and rural buildings under a cloudy sky.

Smooth, saucer-like lenticular clouds stretch across a bright blue sky above a vineyard and a low hill in the distance.

Golden morning sunlight breaks through thick fog over a tranquil, tree-lined canal, casting soft reflections onto the still water below.

Two touring bicycles loaded with bags park outside a rustic building with a small yellow sign reading "café asso" and large painted text above that reads "MENUISERIE".

And we visited Notre Dame de Cyclistes, two days after it had closed for the season...

A black wrought-iron gate decorated with bicycle motifs stands at the entrance of an old stone chapel set on a grassy lawn. The historic church features tiled roofs, a small steeple topped with a cross, and surrounding trees under an overcast sky.
